Michael J. Seeber, DO is a board certified OB/GYN. He has been serving Chattanooga since 1997. Dr. Seeber enjoys guiding couples through pregnancy and childbirth. He has written and published articles on chronic pelvic pain, menstrual problems, PMS, osteoporosis, laparoscopic surgery, sexual dysfunction, teen pregnancy, urinary incontinence and pelvic floor repair.

Midwife Bios

Jennifer Mercer CNM received her master’s degree from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.  Prior to becoming a nurse-midwife Jennifer worked as a labor and delivery nurse in her hometown of Chattanooga.  She also taught childbirth education classes for eight years as a Lamaze certified childbirth educator and provided support for countless women during childbirth as a labor doula.  Jennifer has a special interest in adolescent health and prenatal education.  She is married and is the proud mother of three sons.

Mary Murdock CNM has practiced as a Certified Nurse-Midwife since 1997. She graduated from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and received a Master's Degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She provides healthcare to all women from adolescence, childbearing and menopause. She especially enjoys attending the women during pregnancy and childbirth and has delivered over 2000 babies in her career.

Carley Morgan's passion for midwifery began during the seven years when she worked as an RN in labor and delivery. Her journey brought her to lactation consulting for two years and continued as she received her master's degree in nursing from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in 2015. As a certified nurse-midwife, Carley is excited to bring compassionate, conscientious care to women across their lifespan. She believes that all women deserve the right to make educated decisions regarding their own health, including pregnancy and birth.

She is married to Dr. Thomas Morgan and has one son, Finn. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, horseback riding and spending time with her family. After growing up in Louisiana and Arkansas, she is now proud to call Chattanooga her home.

Dr. Jack Rowland is a Board Certified OB/GYN physician licensed to practice in Tennessee, Georgia and California. After earning his Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University, Dr. Rowland completed a summer Internship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD that same year. He then completed a study at the Department of Infectious Disease at John Hopkins Medical School in 1987. He then completed a two year study of the AIDS vaccine at Vanderbilt Medical Center. In 1994, Dr. Rowland obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He then completed his residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN in 1998.

Dr. Rowland is now in private practice. He is an 0B Hospitalist at Parkridge East Hospital where he has also served as Chief of Surgery since 2009. He is a Clinical Proctor and Assistant Clinical Instructor at the University of Tennessee/ErIanger and Medical Director of Chattanooga's Rape Crisis Center since 2012.

Dr. Rowland is fluent in medical Spanish. He is committed to helping his Latino patients navigate the health care system to obtain excellent healthcare in both obstetrics and gynecology. He participates in mission trips to Guatemala and Honduras where he provides surgery and obstetrical care for patients in third world environments. He is actively involved in La Paz of Chattanooga and shares their passion for the Latino families of Chattanooga.

Dr. Jack Rowland esta Certificado por la Junta Directiva de Doctores en Obstetricia y Ginecologia el tiene Licencia Medica en los estados de Tennessee, Georgia y California. Despues de obtener su Bachillerato de Ciencia en Microbiologia y graduandoce con Altos Honores en la Universidad del estado de Mississippi, el Doctor Rowland termino un internado de verano de Endocrinologia Reproductiva ( rama de la fisiologia anatomica que trata de las glandulas y sus secreciones) en el Instituto Nacional de Salud en Bethesda, Maryland ese mismo ano. Despues termino un curso en el Departamento de Enfermedades Infecciosas en la escuela Medica John Hopkins en el ano de 1987. Tambien concluyo dos anos de studios estudiando sobre la Vacuna de Sida en el Centro de Medicina en Vanderbilt. En 1994, Doctor Rowland obtuvo su Diploma Medico en el Colegio de Medicina de Baylor en Houston, Texas. Despues completo su residencia medica en el Centro Medico de Vanderbilt en Nashville en 1998.

Dr. Rowland esta en practica privada. El es Medico de Hospital de Obstetricia en el Hospital de Parkridge East donde tambien es Jefe de Cirugia desde el ano 2009. El es supervisor de Clinica y Instructor Asistente de Clinica en la Universidad de Tennessee y Erlanger y Director Medico de Centro de Crisis de Violacion de Chattanooga desde el ano 2012.

Doctor Rowland es fluyente en idioma Espanol. El esta comprometido a ayudar a sus pacientes latinos en navegar el sistema de cuidado de salud y poder obtener un cuidado excelente en Obstetricia y Ginecologia. El participa en viajes de Missiones en Guatemala y Honduras donde provee sirugia y cuidado de Obstetricia para pacientes de bajos recursos. El esta activamente involucrado en la organizacion de La Paz de Chattanooga y comparte la passion por las familias Latinas de Chattanooga.

Gina Shumway AG-ACNP/FNP-BC received her Acute Care Master's in Nursing at Vanderbilt University. After graduation, she obtained a job working for a primarily Hispanic clinic in internal medicine. Serving the Latino population gave her a sense of love for both the people and their culture. This love spurred her to continue her education at the University of Massachusetts where she obtained a post-master's degree in Family Nursing which enables her to also serve children and pregnant women. Gina has also provided medical care in Guatemala and plans to continue medical missions there in the future.

Gina Shumway AG-ACNP/FNP-BC Recibio su Maestria en Cuidados Intensivos en enfermeria en la Universidad de Vanderbilt. Despues de a verse graduado obtuvo un trabajo, trabajando en una clinica en medicina interna serviendo primordialmente a la comunidad Latina, no solo se encarino con las personas sino tambien con su cultura. Este carino la empujo an continuar su educacion en la Universidad de Massachusetts donde obtuvosu titulo de Posgrado en Enfermeria Familiar el cual le ayudo a proveer un servicio tanto a ninos como a mujeres embarazadas. Gina tambien a proporcionado cuidado medico en Guatemala y planea continuar con misiones medicas en el mismo pais de Guatemala en el future.

Alicia Fox CNM received her master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University. Prior to becoming a nurse-midwife Alicia worked as a labor and delivery nurse for eight years in the Chattanooga area. She is a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN. She is dedicated to improving health care for all women and providing family-centered care during pregnancy, labor, and birth. Alicia has a special interest in vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC) and alternative/holistic therapies. She is married and is the proud mother of two daughters and one son.
